Russell Andrews (Levee)

A native of Houston, TX. Russell has been seen on stages across the country and over seas and now adds producer and point man for RKA Productions to his resume.
As a young thespian, he was one of six actors chosen annually to study at the Folger Theater in Washington, D.C. Soon after he moved to New York and within months he was being directed by theater giants like Claude Purdy, Michael Kahn, and Marion McClinton.
As an August Wilson “Hired Gun” Russell has taken two of the writer’s plays, “Jitney” and “King Hedley II,” from the table to the stage and on more than one occasion was requested to play the role of ‘Levee’ in “Ma’ Rainey’s Black Bottom.” At London’s Royal National Theater he played the role of ‘Youngblood’ in Wilson’s “Jitney” that won the 2002 “Olivier Award” for Best New Play.
Russell just completed the soon to be released “Punisher” with John Travolta. He was last seen opposite Michael Douglas in Warner Bros. remake of “The In-Laws.” Russell and his wife Katrina have two children, Anya and Kai.
