Joseph Ruskin (Mel Sturdyvant)

Joseph Ruskin’s career has spanned several decades and the country from coast to coast. His credits include leading roles on-Broadway, off-Broadway and in regional theatre in such productions as “The Apple Cart,” “Julius Caesar,” “Way of the World,” “Twelfth Night,” “Hamlet.” Mr. Ruskin spent four seasons at the Alley Theatre in Houston, TX as both director and actor and as a founding member of the Rochester, NY Arena Theatre and the Shakespearwrights in New York City. He has appeared at the Mark Taper Forum in “Babbit,” “A Marriage,” “The Dybbuk,” “Uncle Vanya,” “In the Matter of J. Rober Oppenheimer,” “Othello” and “Murderous Angels.” Other Los Angeles credits include “A Shayna Maidel” in which he played the father to rave reviews, “A Flea in Her Ear” and “In Good Charles Golden Days” which earned him LADCC Award nominations for Direction. He is a graduate of the Drama department at Carnegie Tech.
Mr. Ruskin’s work in television comprises of more than 300 shows beginning when the medium was “live” with appearances in “Studio One,” “Omnibus,” and “Playhouse 90.” His performances in Rod Serling’s “Twilight Zone,” “Planet of the Apes,” and as ‘Galt’
in “Star Trek,” have become classics treasured by collectors. Among his many film credits are: “Prizzi’s Honor,” “The Magnificent Seven,” “Robin and the Seven Hoods,” “Indecent Proposal,” “King Cobra,” “Star Trek IV: Insurrection” and “Scorpion King.”
